Large amount of people gathered in front of Safwan crossing-border point in solidarity with the sit-in protesters in the navy square, Basra and the demonstrators of Tahrir Square, Baghdad.
"The peaceful sit-in will continue in front of Safwan crossing-border, until the demands of the Iraqi street are achieved, by electing a prime minister who meets the legitimate demands of the demonstrators," said the demonstrators in an interview with Iraqi News Agency – INA.
It is noteworthy that during this demonstration, roads were not cut off nor tires were burned, and Basra has been completely calm during the past few days and there is no escalation.
