National Security Advisor Qasim Al-Araji discussed on Saturday, with Lieutenant General Lucas Schreurs the Commander of NATO Mission Iraq, regarding the critical importance of expertise and information exchange between Iraq and the NATO mission.
As outlined in a statement from the National Security Advisor’s media office, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), “National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji received Lieutenant General Lucas Schreurs.”
The statement added that “the meeting focused on enhancing cooperation frameworks between Iraq and the NATO Mission, emphasizing the importance of exchanging expertise and information, especially in benefiting the training of security forces, as the mission is advisory and training in nature rather than combat-oriented.”
Al-Araji reiterated, according to the statement, that “Iraq is keen to work with the NATO Mission, stressing the importance of the mission’s support for Iraqi forces.”
For his part, the Commander of the NATO Mission in Iraq confirmed that “the need continues for the exchange of expertise and mutual benefit between Iraq and the mission, given Iraq’s extensive and accumulated experience.”
