The Endowments of Religions Diwan confirmed, today, Monday, that the government deals with all religious and ethnic components on the principle of equality, respect for beliefs, and strengthening social cohesion.
The official spokesman for the Endowments of Christian, Yazidi, and Mandaean Religions Diwan, Martin Hormuz Daoud, said in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA): that "The Iraqi government, under the auspices of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, launched a distinguished support program for the Diwan, which includes steps aimed at preserving the rights of Christians, Yazidis, and Mandaeans, and protecting the freedoms of these indigenous components in Iraq."
He added that "this program is translated daily into tangible field performance, reflecting the slogan of the stage, a government of services, as the government provided real services and national positions that emphasized the protection of minorities from attempts to encroach or seize their property, especially Christian properties, which were recovered from illegal attempts to circumvent."
He added that "the government deals with all religious and ethnic components on the principle of equality, respect for beliefs, and strengthening social cohesion, without bias towards any party, which strengthened national unity and consolidated the loyalty of minorities to the homeland."
Daoud explained that "the steps taken by the government have had a positive impact on society, by strengthening the ties between the various components," noting that "these policies confirm that Iraqis are brothers and equals in creation, and that major regional challenges require everyone's cooperation in confronting any potential danger."
Daoud pointed out that "Christians share their Muslim brothers in sorrows and happiness," stressing that "the The Christmas and New Year's atmosphere is witnessing positive interaction from all components."
