Joint Operations Command JOC announced on Wednesday the details of the operation that targeted ISIS gangs in the Hamrin Mountains.
A statement of the command obtained by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) stated that "with a distinguished professional duty, and qualitative field work from the Intelligence Directorate, in coordination with the targeting cell in the Joint Operations Command, in the Hamrin mountain range, the brave air hawks carried out four strikes by F_16 aircraft the 28th of October, after harnessing sources, intersecting and analyzing intelligence information."
-The statement explained that "following this operation, a joint security force of the heroes of the Iraqi army's special forces with the detachments of the Kirkuk Intelligence Directorate under the supervision of its director, and the engineering effort of the 11th Division within the Kirkuk Operations Command and with technical and air support from the coalition, headed today to the targeted place, and the force has so far found (8) bodies of terrorists."
"According to available information, among those bodies are important ISIS leadership members, whose names will be announced later after the DNA test," the statement said.
The statement added that "the force executing the duty, found weapons, ammunition, explosive materials, logistical materials and communications equipment, as the targeted place is a very fortified headquarters amid mountains and caves."
"We have the right to be proud of victories and qualitative operations, and we assure ISIS gangs that you have no escape from our strikes and you will be targeted wherever you are, and we are determined to defeat terrorism out of love for Iraq and its people," the statement said.
