The Ministry of Transport announced on Tuesday, that 1,800 flights were operated during the past month.
A statement by the ministry received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) stated that "Iraqi Airways transported 308,031 passengers during the month of September on 1,844 flights, achieving a distinguished performance in terms of domestic and international flights."
The statement added that "the high rates of demand for the company's services and the increase in air traffic indicate the success of the Iraqi Airways operational plan, which is directly supervised by the Minister of Transport, Razzaq Muhaibis Al-Saadawi, who is keen to enhance the position of Iraqi Airways in the region."
The statement added that "the ministry continues to support the company to expand and improve its services in line with global developments in the field of aviation and the continuous pursuit of achieving positive results that are consistent with the government's aspirations to develop local air transport and meet the needs of travelers from diverse destinations to various countries of the world and raise the levels of services in their various forms."
