The head of the Popular Mobilization Authority, Faleh Al-Fayyadh, discussed ways to enhance the United Nations' role in supporting Iraq today, Saturday, with the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Mohammed Al-Hassan.
A statement by the authority - received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) - stated that "the head of the Popular Mobilization Authority, Faleh Al-Fayyadh, received the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Mohammed Al-Hassan.".
The statement added that "during the meeting, ways to enhance the role of the United Nations in supporting Iraq and the security gains achieved were discussed. The two sides also discussed developments in the region, especially those in Syria, in addition to the repercussions of the Zionist aggression on Gaza.".
Al-Fayyadh stressed - according to the statement - "the importance of the international community taking decisive positions to stop the massacres committed by the Zionist occupation, and prevent the escalation of tensions and the expansion of the war in the region."
