The Civil Aviation Authority confirmed today, Saturday, that no notice or letter has been received from Kuwait Airways to stop its flights to Iraq.
Civil Aviation Authority Media Director Jihad Al-Diwan told the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "Kuwait Airways' flights to Iraq are limited to Najaf International Airport, with one or two flights per week, and they do not have flights to the rest of Iraq's airports, including Baghdad International Airport.".
He added, "The aviation authority has not yet received any notice or letter from Kuwait Airways to stop its flights to Iraq," noting that "any decision to stop flights under any circumstances is the right of the airlines."
Kuwait Airways announced earlier that it had temporarily suspended its flights to Iraq.
