In a qualitative operation spanning four governorates, the General Directorate of Narcotics Affairs announced on Friday that a network in possession of over two million narcotic pills had been dismantled.
The directorate stated that it "clashed with a private network for drug trafficking after its elements tried to smuggle a drug shipment, and the network was dismantled and two and a half million Captagon narcotic pills were seized" in a statement obtained by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
"This was carried out as part of a qualitative preemptive operation that began in Basra and continued to Najaf, Anbar, and Nineveh," it stated.
