Signing of M0U between the private and public sectors and British companies in various fields

    The media office of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani announced today, Wednesday, the signing of memoranda of understanding in the capital, London, between the Iraqi public and private sectors and British companies in various fields.

    The office said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Today, Wednesday, in the British capital, London, a ceremony was held to sign a number of memoranda of understanding between the Iraqi public and private sectors and a number of British companies and institutions, in a number of fields, in the presence of the Deputy Prime Ministers, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Minister of Oil."

    The statement added that "a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Ministry of Construction and Housing / General Water Department and the consulting company (IHS), in the field of providing experimental studies for the comprehensive water agreement, and another memorandum of understanding between the Trade Bank of Iraq (TBI) and Standard Chartered Bank."

    He continued, "The ceremony witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Al-Rida Group and the British James Cubitt Company regarding Basra water," explaining, "While an ammonia supply contract was concluded with the British Cubitt Company regarding the establishment of a black urea project for the Iraqi private sector." The statement indicated that, "A memorandum of understanding was signed with Jaguar Land Rover Company to open a branch of the company in Basra Governorate, as well as the signing of another memorandum of understanding regarding the desalination of Basra water," indicating, "While the Iraqi Noor Al-Hilal Company signed a memorandum of understanding with the British Evono Pool Company regarding the establishment of chlorine and soda factories." He continued, "The Iraqi Najjah Al-Mustathmir Company also signed a memorandum of understanding with Evono Pool Company regarding the supply of chlorine and soda." He continued, "In the field of scientific cooperation, a memorandum of understanding was signed in the educational aspect between Al-Mamoun University College and SOAS University of Middle Eastern Studies, to exchange missions and joint cooperation, making it the first Iraqi private university to sign an economic and academic memorandum of understanding with a reputable British university."
