US President-elect Donald Trump announced, on Wednesday evening, that an agreement had been reached to cease-fire in Gaza and release hostages.
Trump said, in a post on his account on the "Truth Social" platform: "We have reached an agreement on hostages in the Middle East."
He added: "They will be released soon. Thank you!".
Trump said in press statements that "the 'epic' ceasefire agreement in Gaza would not have happened without winning the US presidential elections."
The White House said that "a deal has been reached to cease-fire in Gaza and release hostages."
Hamas announced today, Wednesday, its approval of the ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement.
The movement said in televised statements - followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The movement's delegation, headed by Khalil al-Hayya, handed the mediators Qatar and Egypt the approval of the ceasefire and prisoner exchange."
It continued, "We dealt with all responsibility and positivity based on our responsibility towards our patient people to stop the aggression against them and put an end to the massacres."
