31 drug dealers were arrested and 30 kg of narcotic substances were seized in eight provinces

The Directorate of Narcotics and Psychotropic Substance Affairs announced ,on Monday ,the arrest of 31 drug dealers and the seizure of 30 kg of narcotic substances in eight provinces.

"Under the personal supervision of Interior Minister Abdul Amir al-Shammari, and  follow-up by the director general of drug affairs, Major General Ahmed Al-zarkani, and within the framework of the Supreme National Campaign to combat drugs and qualitative security duties performed by the Directorate General of drug affairs, during the past hours, a group consisting of (3) drug traffickers was arrested, their network was completely dismantled and (17) kilograms of narcotic Captagon pills were confiscated in Anbar” According to a statement of the Directorate received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) .

The statement added "drug traffickers were also caught in possession of (1) kg of narcotic crystal substance after chasing him in Kirkuk and Sulaymaniyah, as well as the arrest of (10) drug traffickers in Baghdad Karkh and dismantling their entire network after chasing them in the capital Baghdad, as the operation resulted in the seizure of (1) kg of narcotic crystal substance”.

The statement went on" (6) drug traffickers were arrested red-handed in possession of (5) kilograms of narcotic crystal substance in Baghdad - Rusafa and dismantled their entire network with a qualitative operation with intelligence depth" noting that " thorough an intelligence operation in Dhi Qar, (1) kilograms of narcotic crystal substance were seized and a group of traffickers of these poisons consisting of (4) accused were
arrested”.

In the same context, the statement explained, "during the past hours, a drug dealer of a foreign nationality was arrested in Diyala province red-handed in possession of (1) kilogram of the narcotic crystal substance".

The statement continued " a force of Heroes of the General Directorate of narcotics Affairs hunted down a group of defendants in Maysan, resulting in the arrest of (5) drug traffickers red-handed in possession of (2) kilograms of the narcotic crystal substance and other criminal Duels of weapons and wheels after armed clashes and careful intelligence tracking”.

The statement  pointed out "a qualitative operation through which drug traffickers were arrested, a major in Basra, who is wanted by the Iraqi judiciary for the crime of drug trafficking, in possession of (2) kilograms of various narcotic substances.
 
"The Heroes of the Directorate General of narcotics affairs are still chasing a groups of “soft death” networks in a number of governorates with high vigor and great determination, those Heroes will remain ready to tackle any one that tries to sow this narcotic scourge among society "the statement added.
