Four individuals were taken into custody on Thursday in three governorates on charges of terrorism and drug trafficking, according to the General Directorate of Intelligence and Security.
In a statement obtained by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the Directorate stated that "one of those wanted by the judiciary on terrorism charges was arrested in Baghdad according to a warrant issued against him" and that "he was handed over to the competent investigative authorities."
"Three drug traffickers and promoters were apprehended by General Directorate of Intelligence and Security detachments in Muthanna and Diwaniyah provinces for their illicit activities after they were found in possession of drugs and equipment. The accused will be brought before the competent authorities," the statement read.
