15 arrested on charges of terrorism and drug trafficking: SMC

INA- BAGHDAD

The Security Media Cell SMC announced Thursday the arrest of 15 persons on charges of terrorism and drug trafficking in 4 governorates.

A statement by SMC, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "detachments of the General Directorate of Intelligence and Security at the Ministry of Defense carried out separate duties based on intelligence information, which resulted in the arrest of (15) wanted persons for the judiciary on charges of terrorism, drug trafficking and various other legal materials."

The statement added, "The arrests took place in the governorates of Baghdad, Babylon , Maysan, and Diwaniyah, in coordination with a joint security force," noting that "the accused were duly handed over to the competent authorities."
