The Iraqi army maintained its 43rd place in the world in terms of the number of its combat-ready forces, based on more than 60 individual factors, including the number of military units, financial resources, logistical capabilities, and geographical considerations, according to the American website "Global Fire Power (GFP).
The website said, according to a report translated by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Iraq maintained its position in the global military power ranking for the year 2025, in 43rd place out of 145 countries evaluated in terms of available military power," noting that "the Iraqi army came in fourth place in the Arab world."
The website added, "The ranking is based on more than 60 individual factors, including the number of military units, financial resources, logistical capabilities, and geographical considerations, and uses the Global Military Power Ranking formula, which allows smaller, more technologically advanced countries to compete with larger, less developed powers, to calculate each country's "Power Index" score."
It continued, "The current year's global military power ranking includes 145 countries worldwide, and Iraq's ranking reflects its current military status."
