Al-Shammari instructs stepping up intelligence surveillance on borders

    Abdul Amir al-Shammari, the interior minister, gave the order to step up intelligence surveillance along the borders. 
     
    "Minister of Interior Abdul Amir Al-Shammari chaired a security meeting to listen to the monthly briefing for January of the Federal Intelligence and Investigation Agency, with the attendance of its undersecretary and ministry advisers," reads a statement from the ministry that the Iraqi News Agency (INA) obtained. "The meeting discussed recorded terrorists attacks, arrest warrants, and follow-up investigative paper works during January."

    "The minister stressed the need to cooperate with the Directorate of Residence Affairs to deport foreign violators, and to support the work of the Directorate of Drugs in the provinces to combat this outbreak, as well as to follow up on smugglers of oil derivatives," the statement read. "The minister directed to intensify the intelligence effort in the border areas to follow up on the defeated ISIS terrorist gangs."
