Deputy Joint Operations Lieutenant-General Abdul-Amir Al-Shammari arrived Wednesday at the Iraqi-Syrian borders to inspect the engineering fortifications system.
The Joint Operations Command stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the deputy commander of the joint operations, Lieutenant-General Abdul-Amir Al-Shammri, arrived today at the western sector of the Iraqi-Syrian borders," noting that "Al-Shammari was briefed on the completion of the system of engineering fortifications of the international borders."
The statement added that "the system of engineering fortifications of the borders came for the purpose of preventing the infiltration of terrorist elements across the international borders."
