JOC directs securing roads of Imam Al-Kadhim (PBUH) pilgrims

    The Joint Operations Command directed Tuesday to secure the roads of the pilgrims of Imam Al-Kadhim (peace be upon him).
     
    A statement by the Baghdad Operations Command, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "Lieutenant-General, Deputy Commander of Joint Operations, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, chaired a security coordination conference to follow up on the implementation of the Rajab pilgrimage securing plan at the headquarters of the Second Division, Federal Police," noting that "the conference was held In the presence of Lieutenant-General, Commander of Baghdad Operations, Lieutenant-General, Commander of the Federal Police Forces and the leaders of the advanced headquarters in Karkh and Rusafa, in order to review the progress of the implementation of the plan and the measures taken to implement it.
     
    Al-Shammari stressed, according to the statement, "the necessity of following up on the implementation of the plan by the leaders and commanders exclusively in all its details," noting that "all the gaps leading to the ways of transporting pilgrims are closed by placing checkpoints and protecting the boarding and disembarkation points in order to ensure the smooth movement and transportation of pilgrims."
     
    He stressed "the importance of continuing pre-emptive operations, search, inspection and armed reconnaissance within the holy Kadhimiya area and the surrounding areas," directing "to activate the intelligence effort and address emergency cases with the immediate and rapid intervention of leaders and commanders and combat rumors of all kinds in order to preserve the safety of pilgrims."
     
    He pointed out that "the need to take care and caution to miss the opportunity for everyone who tries to disturb the peace of the pilgrimage or cause harm to the honorable pilgrims," pointing to "the importance of coordination with service departments and supporting bodies to provide the best services throughout the days of the pilgrimage."
