Qatar Olympic Committee announced, today, Thursday, that the Qatar Football Association will organize the 11th edition of the Arab Cup Championship during the period from December 1 to 18, 2025, with the participation of 16 teams.
Last May, FIFA granted Qatar the right to host the next three editions of the Arab Cup, in 2025, 2029 and 2033, at its 74th meeting in the Thai capital, Bangkok, with the participation system in the tournament being by extending invitations to 16 Arab teams, and the tournament will not be included in the international agenda.
The Qatar Olympic Committee stated that the tournament will be held on the World Cup stadiums that hosted matches of many international, global and continental tournaments, including the matches of the first edition of the Arab Football Cup, then the 2022 World Cup, and not ending with the matches of the Intercontinental Club World Cup.
The Qatar Olympic Committee said in a statement published on its official website: "The Qatar Football Association will host the Arab Football Cup competitions during the period from December 1 to 18 on the 2022 World Cup stadiums."
Qatar hosted the first edition of the Arab Cup for national teams in late 2021 - on World Cup stadiums - held in cooperation between the Arab Football Association and its international counterpart (FIFA) with the participation of 16 teams in the finals.
The Algerian national team won the title of that edition, which brought life back to the tournament with a new system, after defeating its Tunisian counterpart (2-0) in the final match that took place at Al Bayt Stadium, one of the stadiums that was preparing at the time to host the World Cup "Qatar 2022".
The qualifying system, how to qualify for the final stage of the tournament and the participating teams are scheduled to be determined in the coming period.
