Iraqi delegation headed by Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi arrived at the White House today’s Monday.
"Al-Kadhimi held a meeting with US President Joseph Biden at the White House," included the media office of the Prime Minister in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
During the meeting, Al-Kadhimi stressed that the partnership with the United States is strategic, and the bilateral relationship is stronger than ever, "happy with the continuation of cooperation between Baghdad and Washington. The bilateral relations of the two countries have many health, cultural and other aspects,”
For his part, Biden affirmed that the US-Iraqi partnership continues and his administration is committed to it, expressing his "aspiration to hold the next Iraqi elections on schedule next October,”
"The US role in Iraq will focus on training assistance and what is related to Daesh," Biden added, stressing: "We are committed to security cooperation and countering Daesh with the Iraqi government,”
He pointed out that his country wants to continue supporting Iraq with intelligence and will not carry out combat missions.
"Washington will send 500.000 doses of an anti-virus vaccine to Iraq,” Biden included.
