Independent High Electoral Commission – IHEC confirmed full readiness to hold the elections on scheduled time, while revealing intentions to conduct 3 electoral simulations with an international presence.
"The Commission is now working within the preparations for the voting process. The Commission is fully prepared to hold the elections on schedule," said the Commission spokeswoman Jumana al-Ghalay to the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
She explained, "The logistical materials for the electoral process have been secured, and they are sensitive and insensitive materials, in addition to the fact that the candidates' lottery will be in the next few days, followed by the first simulation,"
"There will be three simulations for the polling day, the first of which will be one station for each registration center and we have 1079 registration centers. The second and third simulation will be two stations," she added.
