Turkish Trade Minister, Ömer Bolat, announced on Monday that his country's relationship with Iraq included the economy completely and broadly.
"We are honored today to be here in our second country, Iraq, in the capital, Baghdad, in the presence of approximately 150 people from the media and representatives of official Turkish committees," said Bolat in a speech during the Iraqi-Turkish forum, attended by the reporter of the Iraqi News Agency - INA, thanking "the Iraqi Minister of Trade for his invitation and warm reception."
He added that "the relationship between Turkey and Iraq is a historical relationship and its roots extend back many years," noting that "we have ties of friendship, brotherhood, religion and ethnicity with Iraq."
"In the past 50 years, this relationship has included aspects of economy, trade, energy, investment, tourism and contracting, which have played an important role in the relationship between the two countries," he added, explaining that "Turkey's economic relationship with Iraq was not limited to one aspect only, but rather included the economy completely and broadly."
He noted, "The Turkish Iraqi economic relationship is very important for Turkey, as our trade relationship with Iraq is among the top three countries," noting that "Iraq considers its trade relationship with Turkey to be of the same importance."
