The Personal Secretary of the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Muhammad Hamid Kadhim, announced today, Thursday, the start of lifting three checkpoints in Baghdad.
Kadhim said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The technical effort began today, by lifting the control of the entrance to the Al-Khadra neighborhood and the control of Amiriya and the control of the pedestrian underground tunnel between the Al-Khadra neighborhood and the Jamieah neighborhood."
He added, "It was decided to convert these checkpoints into corridors to reduce the traffic flow and lift all barriers and obstacles to the movement of citizens," noting that "this was a continuation of the directive of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mustafa Al-Kadhimi."
