Anbar Criminal Court sentenced on Monday, a drug dealer to life imprisonment for the crime of trafficking in narcotic substances.
The Supreme Judicial Council said in a statement obtained by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the convict was seized in possession of forty thousand tablets of Captagon with the intention of trafficking and selling them among addicts."
The statement also said, "The verdict was issued based on the provisions of Article 27 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law No. 50 of 2017 and in accordance with Articles 47, 48 and 49 of the Penal Code."
