Acting Speaker of Parliament, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, arrived in Beirut on Tuesday evening to confirm Iraq's solidarity with the Lebanese people.
The media office of the acting Speaker of the House of Representatives said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The acting Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, arrived in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, where he will meet tomorrow, Wednesday, with a number of senior officials, including the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, Nabih Berri.".
The statement added, "The visit of the Speaker of the House of Representatives comes after his return from the Inter-Parliamentary Union conference in Geneva, within the framework of the efforts of Iraqi parliamentary diplomacy to stop the aggression against the Lebanese and Palestinian peoples, and to prevent the region from slipping into a large-scale war, in addition to being a message of support and expression of solidarity of Iraq, government, parliament and people, with the brothers in Lebanon and Palestine, and denouncing the crimes of Zionist genocide against the peoples of the region."
