Al-Mandlawi: Iraq's efforts aim to spare the region a large-scale war

    Acting Speaker of Parliament Mohsen Al-Mandlawi confirmed today, Monday, that Iraq's parliamentary and governmental diplomatic efforts aim to spare the region a large-scale war.
     
    A statement by the Acting Speaker of the House of Representatives, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "Acting Speaker of the House of Representatives Mohsen Al-Mandlawi met with the Speaker of the Iranian Islamic Shura Council Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, on the sidelines of the (149) session of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, which is being held in the Swiss capital Geneva from October 12-17, 2024," where Al-Mandlawi discussed with Qalibaf the developments in the region, especially the Zionist terrorist crimes witnessed in Palestine and Lebanon.
     
      "During the meeting, the necessity of continuing to provide all forms of support to the two countries was emphasized, and coordinating parliamentary positions between Baghdad and Tehran in regional and international forums within the framework of serving crucial issues, and working to spare the region from slipping into a full-scale war, in addition to continuing pressure to stop the Zionist aggression against the countries and peoples of the region, as well as providing the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples with the medical and food aid they need, to alleviate their suffering.
     
    Al-Mandlawi stressed according to the statement that "Iraq is making great diplomatic efforts at the parliamentary and governmental levels, by its important position, effective status and extensive relations with various parties, within the framework of efforts to reduce the intensity of the conflict and prevent the region from going to a major war that threatens regional and international security and peace".
     
    Al-Mandlawi called on "Islamic and Arab countries to take strong positions to confront the dangers targeting the existence of the nation, and to put an end to Zionist recklessness in the region".
