President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Rashid, stressed on Tuesday the need to exert more efforts to contain crises in the region.
Rashid received Deputy PM and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, reviewing the course of events in northern Syria and the recent developments, "as the efforts being made to ease tensions and defuse crises in the region," said the media department of the Presidency of the Republic stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
The President of the Republic stressed "the need to exert more efforts to contain these crises," explaining that "the expansion of the circle of conflict in the region will not be in the interest of stability in it."
He called for "putting an end to the crimes and violations to which the Palestinian people are exposed."
FM Hussein provided "a detailed explanation of the consultations and contacts conducted by the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs within the framework of coordinating regional and international positions to find solutions to the crises witnessed by the region in a way that enhances security and stability."
