Ministry of Interior confirmed today, Wednesday, that the border with Syria is monitored through Intelligence Agencies and Security Services. It emphasized that security can only be achieved through collaboration with all regional and friendly neighboring countries.
Interior Ministry spokesperson Brigadier General Muqdad Miri, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “To secure the border with Syria amidst current events, surveillance is conducted through Intelligence Agencies and Security Services, monitoring all activities, preventing unauthorized actions, apprehending perpetrators, and working through specialized units focused on inspection and verification.”
He added, “Everything, including border crossings, internal security, and boundaries, is under observation. All potential concerns raised by citizens have been addressed, studied, and followed up on.”
He noted that “the use of technology in this matter is highly effective, utilizing drones and surveillance cameras.”
He further stressed that “security can only be achieved through cooperation with all regional and friendly neighboring countries.”
