More than thirty terrorists were slain in Wadi al-Tharthar and Mutaybija as a result of preemptive operations, according to confirmation provided on Tuesday by Lt. Gen. Abdul Mohsen Hatem al-Abbasi, Salah al-Din Operations Commander.
He said, "Daily preemptive operations are carried out based on accurate intelligence, with the newly formed 21st Brigade and the intelligence division following up and monitoring the terrorists' movements."
"The military command has established a buffer zone extending from Wadi al-Tharthar in the north to the operations of western Nineveh, where four regiments were opened and a garage equipped with the latest weapons and night vision devices was established, in addition to surveillance towers equipped with cameras," he said. This is based on the directives of the commander-in-chief of the armed forces, the army chief of staff, and the commander of the ground forces.
"This line allowed for the securing of supply lines and the return of displaced families, as it cut off enemy supplies from the desert towards cities like Baiji, al-Sharqat, and Tikrit, all the way to Kirkuk and Samarra," the speaker stated.
