Government spokesman Bassem Al-Awadi confirmed today, Thursday, that Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani's meetings with ambassadors of several countries come within his ongoing efforts to stop the war in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon.

Al-Awadi said in a post on the "X" platform followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The Prime Minister's meetings today with three ambassadors of major countries (America, Russia and China) come as a continuous link in his ongoing movement to stop the Gaza and Lebanon war, prevent its expansion and maintain the stability of Iraq and the region.".

He added, "The Prime Minister spoke frankly about the importance of activating the two positions (Chinese and Russian) and raising them to the level of the crisis in mobilizing the institutions of the international community and restoring their role in deterring aggression, preserving international peace, preventing the targeting of civilians and activating the mechanisms of relief programs for victims of the war."

He pointed out that "the Prime Minister asked his guests from the ambassadors of the permanent member states of the United Nations to take positions on those who dared from some extremist media outlets to attack the position of the supreme religious authority."
