The Meteorological Organization and Seismology - one of the formations of the Ministry of Transport - announced on Saturday a recording of an earthquake on the Iraqi-Iranian border.

"Seismic observatories recorded an earthquake on the Iraqi-Iranian border. The earthquake is 22 km from the Iraqi border, and 40 km from Halabcha district, Sulaymaniyah Governorate," said the media office of the Organization in a statement - received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA. 

The statement added that "the earthquake was felt by the ones living near it," calling on "citizens to stay away from rumors, false news and adhere to seismic instructions."
