The head coach of the Iraqi national football team, Spaniard Jesús Casas, affirmed that preparations for the upcoming Gulf Cup are proceeding as planned, as the team fully focused on delivering a strong performance.
Speaking during a press conference in Kuwait, attended by an INA correspondent, Casas stated, “The team must be in its best condition in order to win the tournament,” indicating that “the group is difficult, and the outcome of the group cannot be predicted.”
He expressed his aspirations, noting, “Winning the Gulf 26 title would be a monumental achievement for Iraq—a dream for us all.”
He pointed out that “the decision to release the clubs for two players from each team is a logical decision, because qualifying for the World Cup is the most important thing, and the continuation of the Iraqi league is important, and it is also good for testing new players.”
