The Iraqi Embassy in Ankara announced on Wednesday that Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani will visit Turkey in the coming days, noting that the visit represents an important step towards strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries in various fields.
Iraqi Ambassador to Turkey Majid al-Lajmawi told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "We anticipate an important visit by Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani to Turkey in the coming days," noting that "the visit will contribute to advancing economic and investment cooperation to new levels."
Al-Lajmawi added that "the upcoming discussions between the two sides will focus on a number of strategic issues, most notably the "Development Road" project, which enhances economic interdependence and establishes a strong partnership between Iraq and Turkey, in addition to energy, transportation, and trade exchange issues."
The ambassador noted that "the visit comes amid important regional and international developments, making it an opportunity to enhance security and economic cooperation," stressing "Iraq's keenness to build balanced relations based on common interests and mutual respect."
He added, "The Iraqi Embassy in Ankara is making strenuous efforts to consolidate bilateral relations, serving the stability and prosperity of both countries."
