The Iraqi Association of Islamic Banks announced, on Monday, its support for the procedures of the Central Bank of Iraq - CBI, over the establishment of a national company specialized in managing e-payment, a positive step in developing the financial development system.
"The support to CBI came especially to what was accomplished in the previous stage and its upcoming rounds in its dialogue with the US Treasury and the US Federal Reserve, to help the return of the banks deprived of the US dollar," said the association in a statement - received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
The association appreciated "the continuous efforts made by CBI and the Office of Combating Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing, through its committee, which resulted in a positive evaluation by the Financial Action Task Force - FATF.
"The establishment by the CBI of a national company specialized in managing central e-payment in Iraq is a positive step in developing the financial development system and enhancing the efficiency of e-payment in the country," included in the statement.
