Government spokesman Bassem al-Awadi confirmed on Thursday that an Iraqi delegation headed by the head of the intelligence service met with the new Syrian administration in Damascus.
Al-Awadi told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "An Iraqi delegation headed by the head of the intelligence service, Hamid al-Shatri, met with the new Syrian administration, and discussed developments on the Syrian arena, and the requirements for security and stability in the common borders between the two countries."
