The Iraqi women's national teqball team clinched the bronze medal at the third round of the global Teqball World Tour, which concluded on Monday in China with participation from 32 teams.
In a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Safaa Sahib, President of the Iraqi Teqball Federation, noted that "our national team topped its group with impressive results, including victories for the women's doubles team against China, Hong Kong, and Chinese Taipei, advancing them to the quarterfinals."
Sahib added that "the Iraqi women achieved a well-deserved victory over the Vietnamese team, earning a spot in the semifinals. Our team managed to defeat the Chinese team in the semifinals for the second time, having previously overcome them in the group stage."
He also mentioned that "our team suffered its only loss in the tournament against the Thai team, which is considered one of the strongest teams in the sport."
It is worth noting that Thailand won the gold medal, Hungary took the silver, and Iraq secured the bronze.
