More than 50 kg of drugs were found in three days, according to a statement released on Thursday by Interior Minister Abdul Amir Al-Shammari.

"We visited today the areas south of Salah al-Din, specifically the Dujail district, as well as to oversee the receiving the command of Samarra by the security services and to meet with the families of the martyrs and the wounded," Al-Shammari said to the Iraqi News Agency (INA).

He continued, saying, "The national ID card, passports, and other service matters provided by the Ministry of Interior are going well. The security situation is stable in the Dujail district and there is high cooperation by citizens with all the facilities of the local police and the federal police."

Noting that "security work is different from the military," he emphasized that "handing over security responsibility to the Ministry of Interior means carrying out security management and relying on the technical aspects and the spread of rescue and traffic patrols, as well as adding surveillance cameras."

He emphasized "the tremendous support by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces for all joints of the Ministry of Interior," noting that "the Ministry of Interior assisted the Salah al-Din Police Command by giving it vehicles, officers, affiliates, and other equipment last year, and assistance is ongoing for the current year."

"The Anti-Drug Directorate has achieved successes throughout Iraq," the Minister of Interior stated in reference to the fight against drugs. "15 kg of narcotic crystal were seized at dawn this day, as well as the arrest of accused individuals who were in possession of these drugs."

"Over 50 kilograms of drugs have been seized in various areas during the last three days," he declared.
