Deputy commander of JOC arrives in Basra

The deputy commander of Joint Operations Command JOC , Lieutenant General Qais al-Mohammadawi arrived on Sunday, in Basra province.
 
JOC said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency ( INA ) that "the deputy commander of joint operations, the chairman of the Supreme Security Committee for elections, Lieutenant General Qais al-Mohammadawi arrived today, in Basra province at the head of a security delegation accompanied by members of the Independent High Electoral Commission and officers in the Command staff and was received by the commander of Basra operations and the police Commander in the city".

The statement added that "the visit comes to review the security conditions in the province, the deployment of forces within the responsibility sector, and discuss security plans for the local elections for the year 2023 in Basra, Nasiriyah and Maysan".
