Returning planes to full service will be resolved in 2025: Iraqi Airways

    Iraqi Airways Company confirmed on Wednesday that the year 2025 will witness the resolution of the file of returning the planes to full service.
     
     Iraqi Airways said in a statement obtained by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Iraqi Airways is ready to supplement its fleet with a number of planes according to the specified schedules until 2027," stressing "its continuous endeavor to resolve the file of returning all idle planes to service."  
     
    The general manager of the company, Manaf Abdel Moneim, said according to the statement that "2025 will be an exceptional year, in resolving the file of returning all suspended planes to service again according to the schedules set for them, as this month will witness the return of two aircraft," noting that "the company is working to complete the necessary approvals to operate air freight in the form of joint operation, and invest aircraft outside the economic feasibility in accordance with the directives of the Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority."
     

    He continued: "Under the direct supervision of the Minister of Transport Razzaq Muhaibis Al-Saadawi and his continuous periodic follow-up of the company's workflow, the airlines were able, during the past year 2024, to achieve (22,914) direct flights carried out by the company's planes from the country's airports to various internal and external destinations, and (3,176,833) passengers were transported, and we will double the number with the vigor of our crews."
     
     Regarding the no-fly file, Abdel Moneim stated that "the ban file is proceeding as planned and 2025 will be different on this file," noting: "We will work to increase revenues and follow up on employee housing files in a manner that suits them and commensurate with their services."

     He noted that "the airlines have worked to activate the automation system as a first stage, and we will launch the second phase after the middle of this year 2025," noting that "the system has been activated in a number of administrative joints, air cargo departments, committees and warehouses in the company."
