A joint security operation launched east of Salah al-Din: PMF

Popular Mobilization Forces PMF announced Wednesday the launch of a joint security operation east of Salah al-Din Governorate, to enhance security and prevent the remnants of the terrorist Daesh from exploiting any security breach.

A statement by PMF, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "a joint force of the army, the federal police, and the supporting formations in PMF, and with air cover from the army's aviation, began an operation to secure the areas of Al-Aith Island, the Al-Dawaji area, the Asila area, and the outskirts of Al-Malh, east of Salah Al-Din."

The statement added, "The operation aims to maintain the momentum of security in the aforementioned areas, and to prevent Daesh remnants from exploiting them to carry out any security breach targeting civilians or security forces."
