The Arab Parliamentary Union President and Acting Speaker of the parliament, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, warned of the consequences of the ongoing Zionist aggression against Palestine and the surrounding nations on Thursday when he suggested the creation of a permanent committee to support regional and international parliamentary cooperation as well as the completion of laws that foster strategic partnerships and dialogue.

In a statement from his office that the Iraqi News Agency (INA) received, Al-Mandalawi stated the following in a speech he gave at the Sixth Global Forum for Intercultural Dialogue, which was held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan: "The forum is of great importance as a supporter of the role of specialized international organizations in creating a climate of international convergence, and coordinating international efforts towards a global legislative environment that respects cultural heritage and cultural diversity."

The young generation's comprehension of dialogue, he continued, "allows them to contribute to drawing new milestones of life and in all fields, and makes them play an important role in the mutual cultural dialogue between nations."

As a precursor to the completion of regional and international legislation that enhances dialogue and strategic partnerships in various fields, the head of the Iraqi parliamentary delegation called for "the approval of the formation of a permanent committee to support regional and international parliamentary cooperation, in the field of strengthening dialogue, and supporting bilateral and multilateral dialogue between countries, to discuss local experiences and legislation in the field of protecting cultural heritage, while calling for joint work to implement the resolutions of international legitimacy fairly and impartially by rejecting and condemn the repeated Zionist terrorist aggression against the countries of the region, foremost of which is Palestine and Gaza in particular."

According to Al-Mandalawi, "all the foundations of stability and dialogue are threatened by the repercussions of the continuous Zionist aggression against Palestine and the countries of the region, and the extension of its effects and repercussions in a way that cannot be controlled regionally and globally."

In addition to calling for an end to Zionist aggression in this forum and all other international forums, he emphasized "the need to take a clear position to denounce everything that would threaten peace and stability, as well as joint work to confront the multiple challenges and crises of food, energy, climate changes, and markets."
