The Chinese Gas, Petroleum and Drilling Company ZPEC, the winner of the two contracts to develop the East Baghdad oil field - the northern extensions of the oil field and the Middle Euphrates fields (Al-Kifl, West Al-Kifl and Marjan) oil and gas fields during the supplement of the fifth licensing round and the sixth round, confirmed its aspiration to begin work on these projects, while explaining thier technical capabilities.
The company's representative (Tony Law) told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "ZPEC has been present in Iraq since 2011 and we have carried out drilling work for oil projects and we look forward to more work in Iraq."
He added, "We are happy to have won contracts in the appendix of the fifth licensing round and the sixth licensing round, and we will work based on what has been achieved to develop the East Baghdad field - the northern extensions and the Middle Euphrates fields. We look forward to signing contracts and starting work."
He continued, “Our main operations consist of:
1. Oil and gas exploration, development and production
2. Oil and gas engineering and technical services
3. Manufacturing of advanced oil and gas equipment.
ZPEC is also actively expanding its high-value-added high-tech business, which It enjoys the advantages of business integration, and according to the established plans, ZPEC forms a complete industrial chain for oil and gas exploration, covering the exploration and development of oil and gas, and today, Saturday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani launched the fifth licensing round and the sixth licensing round, according to a statement issued by the media office to the Prime Minister, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani sponsored the ceremony announcing licenses for the fifth supplementary round and the entire sixth round, which includes a total of 29 projects for oil and gas exploratory fields and patches, distributed among 12 governorates,” stressing that The statement added , “These strategic projects will contribute to increasing investments in these governorates, which will help improve their economic and service conditions.”
The statement added, “Iraq expects to obtain more than 3,459 million standard cubic feet per day of gas, and more than one million barrels of oil every day, through these two rounds.”
