Basra Governorate clarified its procedures for securing the 25th Arabian Gulf Cup, while indicating that the plan is flexible and subject to change.
"The security plan regarding the governorate's preparations for the starting the Arabian Gulf 25 cup was seen by Prime Minister Muhammed Shiaa Al-Sudani during his visit to Basra," said the governor's assistant for technical affairs, Ali Hussein Aziz, in a statement to Al-Iraqiya News TV, followed by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
He noted that "the plan includes the security of the stadiums and being responsible for what happens inside the stadiums, in addition to the police and army units, which will consist of four surroundings."
"The plan is prepared in a flexible manner and is subject to change with reality. The plan is very accurate, and an operations room was formed under the guidance of PM Al-Sudani, which will be present around the clock throughout the days of the tournament, as continuous meetings are held to face any emergency that may occur," he included.
He asserted, "The audience will be transported to the stadiums by buses for free," explaining that "there is a high flow of entry for the fans of the tournament via the outlets."
"There is no problem in receiving any number of the audience, whether from Gulf or Iraq, as the governorate has prepared 35 hotels for the audience, in addition to the Arab clans opening their hostels to receive guests," he noted.
He stated that "the procedures for the entry of the Iraqi audience into the province are by presenting the special official document," explaining that "there are no technical problems."
