20 million, including 5 million foreigners, participated in the Arbaeen visit

The spokesman for theCommander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yahya Rasoul , announced the participation of more than 20 million visitors in commemorating the fortieth anniversary of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, in the holy Karbala this year.

Major General Rasoul said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "15 million Iraqis and 5 million foreigners participated in the fortieth visit of Imam Hussein this year in Holy Karbala."

He added, "This year's visit was characterized by a smooth and fluid movement of visitors and wheels, and large security units arrived at the holy Karbala to secure the visit."

He added, "The security forces will remain present in the holy Karbala until the return of the pilgrims, and there is a 24-hour air effort to secure the city of Karbala and its approaches."
