Baghdad Operations Command announced Thursday the success of the security plan for securing protection for the pilgrims of Imam Al-Jawad.
A statement by the Command , received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "the plan drawn up by the Baghdad Operations Command to secure protection for pilgrims heading towards the holy city of Kadhimiya to perform the rituals of visiting the two holy imams on the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Muhammad al-Jawad (peace be upon him), which was prepared to maintain security in Baghdad ended without any security breach, with the participation of units in the ministries of defense and interior, intelligence agencies , and the support of government service and health departments.
The statement added that "security was provided to the crowds of citizens who went out to perform their religious rituals during this pilgrimage and in the days preceding the time of the pilgrimage , and with the concerted efforts of the security forces and to ensure the pilgrims ' comfort day and night," noting that "this came under the supervision and follow-up of the field by Lieutenant-General, Commander of Baghdad Operations and the leaders of the advanced headquarters in Karkh and Rusafa and with the constant presence of leaders and commanders at the head of their units.”
He explained, "The security plan for securing protection for the pilgrims of Imam Al-Jawad was preceded by the implementation of preemptive operations in the areas surrounding Baghdad's security and activating the intelligence effort, which aims to stop goals of the enemy (evil gangs of Daesh ) in undermining our people's reassuring security."
