Al-Kadhimiya Holy Shrine announced Thursday that 4 million pilgrims flocked during the commemoration of the martyrdom of Imam Al-Jawad (peace be upon him).
The General Secretariat of the Holy Shrine of Al-Kadhimiya said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "It has mobilized all its staff, along with volunteers and various bodies from the seminary, religious, security, service, health institutions, civil and popular activities, efforts and capabilities to receive millions of pilgrims on the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Muhammad bin Al-Jawas horse (peace be upon him) through extensive measures to provide an atmosphere of faith for the faithful crowds loyal to perform the pilgrimage rituals.
It added that "the number of pilgrims over a period of days amounted to nearly (four million) pilgrims ," noting that "the number of volunteers honored to serve, men and women, (2450), of whom (1250) were inside the holy shrine and around the holy shrine, and (1200) ) outside the sacred courtyard and the roads leading to the holy shrine.
It also stated that "the number of media professionals coming to the Holy Shrine participating in the audio, visual and print media coverage is (70)".
