Four suspects arrested for possessing drug weeds in Basra, MOI reports

The Ministry of Interior (MOI) announced today, Friday, the arrest of four suspects in possession of narcotic drug in Basra province.

Through a qualitative security operation and by obtaining intelligence information from the General Directorate for Combating Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances at the Ministry's Agency for Police Affairs in Basra Narcotics Control Department, the security forces were able to arrest (4) suspects and seize one kilogram of narcotic hashish and (270) grams of crystal meth, MOI said in a statement, received by The Iraqi News Agency (INA).

The statement added, "The accused were referred to the judiciary in accordance with the provisions of legal article (28) for narcotics, to receive their just punishment."
