Transport Ministry: 2025 will witness finalizing The Development Road Project designs

The Ministry of Transport confirmed on Saturday that this year will be crucial for completing the detailed designs of the Development Road, and announced plans to present the project to global companies.

Ministry spokesperson Meitham Al-Safi told the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that “the Development Road project is being closely monitored, with approximately 63% of the total detailed designs completed, distributed as follows: 64% for the railway designs and 60% for the roadway designs.”

Al-Safi added that “topographic survey work began in Basra and has now reached Najaf, and will continue to cover the route until the Iraqi-Turkish border.”

He emphasized that “the ministry is handling the project with seriousness, confirming that 2025 will be a decisive year for finalizing the detailed designs. The project will be presented to global companies this year for implementation and competition, in line with the Iraqi government’s vision and the interests of the people.”
