Syria Foils Attempted Bombing at Sayyida Zaynab Shrine Near Damascus

    The Syrian Ministry of Interior announced on Saturday that it had thwarted an attempted bombing at Sayyida Zaynab(pbuh) holy shrine near Damascus.
     
    In a statement, followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the ministry said that “the General Intelligence Directorate, through its specialized unit of  combating ISIS, in cooperation with Damascus countryside police, successfully foiled an attempt by ISIS militants to carry out an explosion at Sayyida Zaynab holy shrine in the outskirts of Damascus.”
     
    The ministry added that “the operation resulted in the arrest of those involved in this criminal act.”
