Baghdad-INA
The Independent High Electoral Commission announced, today, Tuesday, that the final results will be submitted to the Federal Court after resolving the appeals, while noting that it will take legal methods against those who accused IHEC of falsifying the results.
The assistant spokeswoman for the Commission, Nibras Abu Souda, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The ratification of the final election results will be done by the Federal Court, not by IHEC," noting that "the Commission submits the final results to the Federal Court once the appeals are resolved ".
She stressed that "The appeals have not been resolved so far," noting that "IHEC issues a statement on a daily basis, showing the number of studied appeals."
Regarding the accusations against the commission of falsifying the election results, Abu Souda explained that "IHEC will follow the legal paths, whenever deemed necessary."
Earlier, Independent High Electoral Commission recommended rejecting 86 new appeals to the election results, while it agreed to conduct manual counting and sorting for 22 stations in 13 governorates.
