National Security Agency Undersecretary Hamid Al-Shatri revealed that amendments were made to the plans prepared by the Supreme Committee to implement them on the day of the general polling.

“The Supreme Security Committee supervising the elections of the Iraqi Parliament 2021, and all its sub-committees and intelligence cells are in an ongoing session,” Al-Shatri told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), on Saturday.

Al-Shatri explained that, "the committee conducted a focused evaluation and reviews of the experience of the private voting that took place on Friday, and the observations and obstacles that accompanied that experience were considered. Based on those reviews, some amendments were made to the plans prepared by the committee and will supervise their implementation on the day of the general vote as contingency plans that address any potential breach,”

“According to the directives of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and the decisions of the Supreme Committee, the security services will not tolerate any person or party trying to influence the electoral process, and violators will be referred to the judiciary immediately,” he stressed.

He noted that “the honorable citizens in all regions of Iraq can participate in the general vote in a calm and secure environment,”
